  1. The average heart rate for an 8-10 year-old child is about 90 beats per minute, but the normal range extends from about about 60 to 110 beats per minute. This average will slowly continue to decrease as the child ages until it stabilizes at around 70 beats per minute once he/she has reached adulthood.

One's heart rate after exercising varies with how intense the workout is. In the source box is a link I found that tells you how to calculate the ideal range of heart rate after exercise. According to this method:

    ideal range of heart rate=

( 50% of maximum reserved heart rate + heart rate at rest ) to

( 85% of maximum reserved heart rate + heart rate at rest )

    maximum reserved heart rate=

maximum heart rate - heart rate at rest

    maximum heart rate= 220 - age

Using these calculations for a 9 year-old with a resting heart rate of 90 beats per minute, their range of an ideal heart rate after execise is about 150.5 to 192.9 beats per minute. Hopefully this gives you an idea of what a 9 year-old's heart rate could be after different levels of exercise.
