Under normal condition, what is the result of the interaction of biotic potential and environmental resistance?

  1. I'm not sure what the author of the question is getting at, but my guess would be stabilizing selection.  If a species' biotic potential is great and moving some trait in one direction through evolution, but there is an environmental pressure against that trait, then the trait would be stabilized under that selective pressure.
