Depends on what is "simple" life to some.

For ex. I have some friends who have a huge mansion, one of their about town cars is a luxus, and enjoy finer things that money can buy, however compared to other rich people they live a rather sparten life.

While other friends who are afluent, they love to live meagerly, and don't even have a tv. and ride a nice car nothing flashy.

Some are just getting by, and living paycheck to paycheck and have the bare necessities.  But their life is hardly "simple" quite stressful and complicated, uncertain.
