  1. This depends on a number of variables.  Your leg length is more important that your overall height, and leg fit is not the only issue.  Women tend to have longer legs and shorter torsos than men, but this can vary with the individual.

Take a look at Sheldon Brown's excellent article linked below.  It should help you understand how to determine your correct size.

Please note that there is no industry standard for sizing, with at least 3 different ways of measuring size.

    Good luck, and happy cycling.

  2. There is no simple answer but if you want to measure yourself take a look at this fit calculator:

Ideally you should have help or go to your local bike shop and have a professional fitter measure you.

  3. all bikes have different sizes get the bike you want with the right size

  4. The easiest way to do this measurement is to simply straddle the bike you like, feet on the ground,  and make sure the top frame bar (top tube) clearly will not strike your important bits.  The saddle height is adjustable.  No one wants to jump off the saddle at a stop and crash their privates on the top tube.  If you find a frame size you like ask the attenedent what is the actual frame size. Smaller frames are lighter than bigger ones of course..

  5. A 17" frame would just be about right for you but it is always better to try a bike on to be sure.
