My tool chest has sliders and not ball bearings (the cheaper kind). I bought this used and someone had sprayed white lithium grease in the sliders that kind of dried up and now it's hard to open and close the drawers. Can someone tell me what is the best kind of grease to use for drawer slides? Thanks

  1. Graphite should work for you.

  2. elbow

  3. Graphite is a good way to go but it can be messy and and leave marks. I would try paraffin wax The kind used for candles or canning. You just rub it over the area that you want to slide well.  I use this on old wooden drawers in the kitchens of my rentals. It works great and does not dry up or collect dust. It does have to be reapplied every so often.

  4. use WD40 to clean the sliders,, then go to lowes and look for a blue bottle from Dupont (iforget the name of the stuff)  it has a liquid that you apply and it  dries up to a powder like graphite!!!!
