  1. THere are alot of variables

Height, weight, skill level, type of skiing.

but in general skis around 165 cm would be right for your height.

  2. I'd guess from what you ask and where you are asking it, that you are an intermediate or a beginning skier, and are not yet doing any park riding. In that case I'd guess for a ski length of 153 to 165 of medium flex for an average weight person. Get an all mountain in and intermediate to advanced performance ski. The higher performance ski is more precise and will teach you how to ski at a faster rate than the beginner level or rental ski. Get a pair of boots that are the correct size and shape and flex pattern for your foot and leg. Take at least 4 hours in the shop to try them on and to wear them in the shop. You will be in the boot for 4-8 hours at a time every day you ski, so be sure the fit is correct or can be made so by a good boot fitter. Many things impact how you ski and what type of equipment you need.

Take a series of lessons from a qualified professional instructor, practice what you are shown and ski as much as you can.

  3. it depends on what level skier he is & what build etc. & what type of skiing its for...

On average I think about chin - nose height for rec.

  4. Ski length is based mostly on weight, skier ability, and ski type.  There's no way to recommend a ski length if all we know is the age and height of the skier.  Have somebody at a shop help you out.

  5. Im not sure exactly but my ski's and most of my friends go up to their mouth. Or just about there. Between nose and chin.

Sorry I cant be more helpful :(
