Question:

What is the right size/type of skimboard for me?

I am 5'2 and about 100 lbs. What type of skimboard would be best for me. And what would be better for a begginer flat land skimboarding or wave skimboarding. Thanks Brendan

  1. I would say that if you were serious about skimming a great board to start off on would be a Zap Wedge. you can find a used one online for somewhere in the ballpark of 100 dollars. It is a great board for learning on. You can ride waves on it to an extent and practice your land maneuvers such as pop shovits or whathaveyou. (and if you can help it, get a large wedge, it has more float, you'll be glad you did)

    wooden boards  and thin fiber glass boards are a waste of time IMO, they are outgrown WAY too quickly to be a useful step in the progression of a skimmer
