What is the right temp water for a rope fish?

  1. I have had one a couple of months now and when you get it ask them what it's favorite food is and get them to feed it in front of you because some will refuse to eat and die. The temperature should be between 75 and 83 degrees. Mine is in a 75 gallon tank will a few cichlids and a pacu.


  2. These fish come from shallow bodies of water in Africa where the water can get very hot with very low levels of dissolved oxygen. The temperature most keepers have them at is regular tropical temp: 72-76 degrees F, but Ropefish thrive best at 80-83 degrees F.

  3. They can survive between 22 and 29 deg C happily enough. Mine live at 27degC.

  4. Hiya as they are tropical fish the ideal temp is 26, also the bigger the tank the better as they can grow as big as 15 inches in the right set up!
