I started a job for a company last monday. the boss told me that pay is on the 1st and the 16th of each months. I worked full week before august 1 but I did not get paid yet. My boss is too busy doing her own stuff and I think she forgot to pay or either she doesn't like to pay her workers on time.. what is the right way to ask if my boss seems to pay their workers? will the boss get mad and think less of me?? if I try to go after the paycheck although the boss didn't pay on time??

  1. 'Is there a paycheck for me?'

  2. Usually if you worked the week  before the 1st you won't have a check until the next pay period, 1 day is normally not enough time to produce a payroll check. I would get clarification from another employee on the pay periods and then ask your boss to clarify.

  3. you might have to work one full pay period before you get your first check.
