What is the risk of getting cancer if your doctor told you that your endometrium was 15 mm thick?

He suspects hyperplasia. He says the uterus has fibromatosis in small elements. The left ovary is folical measuring 3 cm.

  1. A normal endometrium is usually less than 5mm thick. This alone is suggestive of endometrial disease, but not cancer and it is not a risk factor.  


  2. Has your doctor talked to you about getting a biopsy or a scraping performed?  The tissue could be sent to pathology and assessed for cancer.  I don't know what your risk is, but there is definately not something normal going on in there.  If your doctor won't do anything about it, get a second opinion.  You need to know what is going on with your own body.
