  1. I don't don't know I hate history

  2. Twisty, sometimes hilly (especially north of Lazaro Cardenas), 2 lanes almost all the way and LOTS of topes (speed bumps). Other than that it is gorgeous! There are some spectacular views as it pretty much follows the coast the whole way.

Don't drive it at night. Take your time.

  3. In the opposite direction - Acapulco to Melaque

Michoacan is more like Big Sur (Calif) with cliffs and curves.  Colima is flat with a toll road option (about $10us) and Jalisco is good 2 lane but you won't see much of the coast until the lower 1/4.   The whole trip is worth taking your time

  4. lol

  5. It's a two lane road that will go thru many small villages with alot of topes (speed humps ) . You can pass slower traffic in the other lane, unlike the US. Alot of poverty will be seen but this is the real Mexico. Not too much beach but there is a turn just south of Tecpan that has a unbelievable view of the beach with 4 or 5 restaurants/bars. I always stop there and get a beer and walk down to the deserted beach before heading back out.Deserted with huge waves !!!!! Just gorgeous.

Check out Costa Azull about an hour north of Acapulco. Marked by a sign and a bunch of Hammocks for sale. killer little beach with a river and lake
