Dear respected users,

Hello! How is everyone? Doing great I hope. The question that I am about to ask is such: What is the role of Royalty in Society? Political issues aside, I do admit that Royalty have been very prominent in human culture. But let us fully consider their roles in Society, are they any different from anyone else? Are Royalty equal to people like Presidents, or even better? So, would it be better to submit oneself to Monarchy or a Republic? I would like to hear your views. Think before you flame~!

Sorry for the inconveniences caused. Have a great time! : )

Best wishes,

(:( TuBaT ):)

  1. The essence of a royal sovereign is to embody the nation personally, to provide a focus for loyalty especially for the military and political leaders (which should prevent either trying to control the other) and for judges and other public servants (which should prevent corruption) and generally to be the person to whom anyone claiming to speak "for the nation" is accountable.  My favourite example of a king who has done this well is King Juan Carlos of Spain.

My own experience of the world is that presidents, coming as they do from a political background, are not trustworthy and can generate a lot more "parasitism" than goos monarchs.

The secret is to keep the monarch's court small and based on merit.

  2. I'll trade you two George Bushes for one Prince Harry any day.

  3. Whether you like royalty or not, no one can argue that royal families are a far more exclusive club than presidents.  In theory, anyone can become a president while not everyone can become royal.

Royals bring a sense of tradition and prestige to events and organisations.  They are considered more important (even in republics) than presidents and (non-political) ones tend to be more popular than politicised presidents.

Personally, I would rather submit myself to monarchy - but this is merely my opinion.  I understand the ideals of republicanism, but I do not believe in Ideals.

And, by the way I am doing great.  I hope you are well!  And no need to apologise!

    Mim

  4. Put it this way

I would bow for a Royal but not a President

I would have respect and admiration for a Royal but not a President

(the president choose to be in that position and still c***s it up whereas a Royal is born in to it and Queen Elizabeth seems to be one of the best Monarchs)

  5. My understanding from common folk in the U.K. is that having a title entitles you to better tax breaks. I am certain both monarchy and republic societies offer benefits to their people to maintain their conformity. Lucky for us we have a choice to sample another way should we find ours too corrupt. If a person is that distraught about the rules or laws they live under then they should consider grazing on the other side of the fence.

  6. spend tax payers money...

  7. They are said to add stability and structure to society. I persoanlly thnk they a re parasites.

  8. i have no idea...for me..and the blood..come on.

you could have a royal blood line or something and nobody would care...
