  1. Go and look in your notes. The answers are there.

  2. Support workers work with children and adults exhibiting issues of mental disorder origination.  If a child has ADHD, Bi-polar disorder, PTSD, etc (Not saying infants, but you smaller children can have it...)

Then the support worker can be an alleviation for some of these  symptoms.  As the support worker is trained to deal with this sort of person, and initiate problem solving solutions.  As going through calming down exercises with a PTSD client going through an "episode".  The general teacher may have some training, but not specific to it.

  3. A behaviour support worker would probably be there to support a single child with behaviour problems and therefore should be with the child, not always working directly with them, but always close enough to ensure that any unwanted behaviour is delt with appropriately and immediately, as defined by the Individual Behaviour Plan that they should have written for them. This ensures that any diificult behaviour is treated consistently, so that the child knows that there will always be a consequence for their actions. If everyone, including the parents at home, follows the same plan in the same way, the child's behaviour should begin to improve.

You're so cheeky asking for help, you should know all this - look at your setting's behaviour policy for further info! :-)

  4. It is a backup assistant to the main teacher. When doing activities they might sit behind and prompt the child. They do other things like toiletting or hanging up coats and bags when they arrive or reading during library time and helping out specifically with slower children.
