  1. To teach students their rights and responsibilities as U.S. citizens; this means teaching them to be participatory citizens who vote, pay taxes, serve on juries, obey the laws, run for office, etc.


  2. Teachers play a role as the "second parents" to their students.  When students leave their house and go to school, they are the ones who now shoulders the responsibility of molding the minds of their students.  Whatever the teacher teaches greatly affects one's ability to act on things with confidence and conviction.  In this manner, not only the teachers teach students to become a better student but a better member of the society.  A productive member of the society to say the least.  

    And because it is in school where students learn and develop their knowledge.  They develop their knowledge with the help and guidance of teachers.
