  2. Yes, in our classroom we have implemented being an active learner in all situations.

    We use the acronym active in reader's workshop. A stands for asking questions, C is for making connections, T is for tracking down the important information, I is for inferencing and V is for visualizing and E is for Eureka - Aha or synthesis.

    We talk about what active listeners do like facing the person speaking, looking them in the eye. Really truly listening not planning what you are going to say next etc...We practice rephrasing.."So what I hear you saying is...."

    We incorporate the idea of active learner in math and science also
