  1. Well current corporate media really doesn't have much of one....

  2. the media is supposed to act in the public interest and not their own, I think it's funny how everyone says the media is so conservative when there is really only one station that is close to conservative, which is Fox. Then you have CNN, CBS, ABC, & PBS which are liberal all day long and do nothing but spout liberal propaganda.

Don't believe me, watch their news and see if they say one positive things about Republicans, and if they do watch to see if they don't make some negative comment afterward. That's called agenda setting.

They should be reporting corruption on all sides and give the complete story, but the problem is that they are just as corrupt as anyone esle.

  3. It could have a huge impact, but it would have to clean up the way it reports the news.

Right now it concentrates on fear mongering and setting its own agenda.

The press should be a beacon of the light of truth in a sea of darkness. It should be informing us about the issues that will be affecting us for the foreseeable future. Instead of that, it concentrates on ratings and very little truth gets into our living rooms.  What passes for the news now used to be called "yellow journalism".

We hear daily about the sexual abbarancies of our elected officials, real or imagined, and we hear nothing about the bribery and corruption that is a daily occurrence in our government.

Maybe, if the press was less concerned with the personal lives of our officials, and more concerned with the deals that were cut, they would have more credibility.

A classic example is the Law of the Sea Treaty That is being considered by the Senate right now.

I haven't heard one word about it on the evening news.

  4. to stop it

  5. very important role

  6. nothing............

  7. exposing the corrupt publicly to the educated middle class!

without the educated middle class you will never be able to get rid of corruption.

"rusted on" (persist ant) religious & cultural beliefs ( in the face of overwhelming factual & scientific evidence to the contrary) also aid to keep a society corrupt.

education & a free media are the best defences to corruption.

  8. Not playing any vital role, media itself is corrupted.
