  1. Support their kids and help them the best they can...be glad with what their kids can do and don't expect them to be #1 all the time.

  2. To back off!

  3. u have to be there for them help them with their homework and defend them wen thier in trouble

  4. To support their child. Make sure they get on top of lessons and homework and help them when they need it. If my parents didn't support me I dunno how I would have gotten through hard times before exams.

  5. Cannot be overestimated.  Preparation of children for school throughout first 5 years of life - how to behave, numbers, colors, shapes, language (including grammar), and for many parents, beginning reading.

Seeing to it the child goes to school and graduates.  Includes ensuring proper sleep; appropriate, well-lighted work space for homework; time to do homework; that homework is done; proper nutrition; transportation to and from school if necessary.

Assistance through rough spots - homework help, deciding which classes to take, interpretation of lessons, challenging the school if your child is mistreated.

And perhaps most important, a general atomosphere wherein education is valued and the parents read for pleasure.

  6. They should ensure that homework is done.

Also, discipline should start in the home.

In Australia, they are making a law where teachers have to do EVERYTHING now.  Discipline. Manners, Chivalry etc...

Do you trust otherpeople to raise YOUR child?

  7. A parent's role in education is to support their child.

They might not be able to answer every single home work questions, but they should be able to guide their child to finding the answer or help they need.

Parents should also be their child's advocate.  Making sure they are getting what they need from their school.

Sometimes they have to fight for their children to get extra services or to get an adequate placement.

  8. to send their kids to school

  9. be supportive don't push them or they will only resent you pushing your kids and the grades they get does not have a direct correlation

  10. What the children may not know must be taught to them in some way or other

  11. Education begins at home with the parents before children enter school.Learning "who" they are in their family and community, self-control and socially acceptable behavior. How to get a long with others, wait your turn, share and love.

Vocabulary for the world around them and explanations as to how things work, where people go, why things are the way they are, the reasons we do things, cause and effect and the consequences for our actions.

On that base teachers can build. Teachers of all ages will tell you that without parents helping at home the student's potential is reduced.

  12. To make sure the homework gets done.  To assist in study for upcoming tests.  To lift spirits when the child doesn't do well on a test, even after studying as the parent knows that if the child studied, then they did the best they could and the parent is proud of their child.  It's better than if they did poorly and didn't study.  To look over homework and projects and give advice on presentations where needed.  These are the types of things responsible parents do in education.

  13. observation, help when needed, cooperation with school and techer, warm home for kids, be a good rolemodel, try to understand kids

  19. parents have the most important role of anybody when it comes to education.  parents are the kids number one teachers, especially during the first 3 years of life when the brain is developing so fast.

  20. To assist. I taught my daughter to read before she went into kindergarten, and helped with assignments on the way, when it was called for (this does not man that I did her homework for her).  She went on to earn 3 degrees, so has done well with that foundation, I think.

  21. I send my son to school for an education by teachers who specialize in their particular grade or subject. My role in my son's education is to ensure that he eats healthy and exercises well to ensure physical fitness which helps him learn. Another role of mine in his education is to ensure that I take part in what he is learning. To stay involved and therefore understand issues and/or successes that he may have.
