  1. Her Majesty The Queen carries out state visits and liases with the Prime Minister and her Government. However, it is her children (and their children) who carry out charitable tasks and are chairs of multiple charities- HRH The Princess Royal carries out the most charitable engagements than any other member of the British Royal Family- she is President of Save the Children and supports their work extensively. HRH The Prince of Wales operates The Prince's Trust, which has been raising money for charitable causes since 1976.

  2. In addition to a monarch's constitutional duties, The King/Queen and the royal family all have an important role to play in public. As a national figurehead, the monarch and its royal family provides a focus for identity, offers recognition of achievement of all kinds, and supports the ideals of public and charitable work.

For example, Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, acts as a focus for national unity and pride by means of regular visits in the UK, her other realms, the Commonwealth and overseas destinations. The Queen is supported by other members of the Royal Family, who also carry out thousands of visits each year.

The Queen recognises excellence and achievement. This takes place in many ways: through Royal visits which provide a 'seal of approval' to a charity or community; through the award of honours and prizes to outstanding individuals; and through messages sent to those celebrating special birthdays or wedding anniversaries.

The Queen and the Royal Family also play an important part in the public and voluntary sector. Through involvement with hundreds of charities, military units and other organisations, they promote the ideal of service to others.

  3. To be figured on pounds and pennies. Nevertheless she's the Queen and happens to be a very good Queen indeed that the Brits love and respect. Take princess Di for instance, it's been so long since her death but people remember her like yesterday so I guess the role of royals is to be people's favorites. We just love having somebody to look up to I guess.

  4. To be the Canadian head of state.

  5. What is the role of anyone?

The Queen is a hard working person-she has only missed 4 engagements in her life-how many have you missed?-she could say 'The heck with this" and retire-or abdicate but she get up every morning and is polite to people who are pains

goes to places that she doesn't want to, eats food she doesn't like;  has her life, her husband, HER CHILDREN'S life under a microscope ,

She take people saying nasty things about her family and cannot talk back--she can't vote

If everyone was more like her the world would be a better place

  6. not very important basically she is the face of britain (at least england) and her general purpose is to great important people on visits and show concern for other countries when they are in difficulty

  7. To wear hats, attract tourists, distract the tabloid media from watching the real government and stay out of the way of anything remotely important.

NB.  She's actually pretty good at *all* those things.
