  1. It's similar to technologies of other species, such as bees, who manufacture honeycomb, however our technology is on a somewhat grander scale.

    We can travel into outer space, bees can't. Also, technology on a greater scale, has a greater impact on the environment. There are consequences!


  2. I heard a quote from someone which said something like "We are stone age people living in a space age society."

    I think this is very true.  Biologically, we have evolved little over the past few thousand years, and biological evolution continues to be slow.  However, technologically, we have evolved at exponential rates on just a few tens of years.  I like to think of my Great Grandfather.  During his lifetime he saw the invention of the airplane and airflight, all the way to men on the moon.  Just in 1 lifetime.  My mind is boggled.
