  1. conserve

  2. Sounds like an essay question to me. You should consider this from the angle of what women have to offer that men don't? Such as breastfeeding instead of bottle feeding is something so natural and cost effective and helps reduce waste in our environment. I obviously speak from experience. Bottles= mess= need to clean= usage of water & electricity

Breastmilk= ready made food anywhere, anytime with no messy residue build-up.

This is just a tidbit that can help you think in the right direction.

  3. I think conservation isn't impacted by gender -- the importance and role it should play in our lives isn't defined in any measure by s*x.

I do find it impressive that some of the most significant voices in  the call to acknowledge the value and sanctity of the environment have been women.

Prior to the turn of the previous century Edith Holden was teaching us the value of appreciating the simple aspects of nature all around us.  She was a wonderful writer that lost her life far to early.

Gene Stratton-Porter's novels wove nature so thoroughly into her tales that they defined the tone, theme and plot of what she wrote.

Of course Rachel Carson (who would have turned 100 this past weekend had she lived) define an entire generation of writing, environmental activism and responsibility to nature via 'Silent Spring' that to this day conservation writing is defined by this work.

Right-or-wrong women tend to be more readily identified as "nurturers" in society.  Maybe because of this they should be the voice that calls us to act on saving the sacred elements around us that define our very existence.

  4. samething as men!

  5. what are you saying? women and men are the same without the gender issue. a woman can do exactly the same what a man can do. she can plant trees,  join any kind of workplace related to environment. she can make the next generation realize the importance of our natural resources. she can do anything.

  6. I work at a state park and we deal with many conservation issues; and let me tell you I can do anything a man can do if not sometimes better because the drive to be able to get the job done is there.  I also have a very strong compassionate nature.

The only thing I refuse to do is kill any animal (refering to exotic animals).  It goes against my religion but I know many women in the workforce that have no problem with this.

  7. Same as a man surely is this not a sexist attitude ,

but maybe in the home the woman has more control and over the kids

global warming cannot be stopped but we can stop helping it becoming faster, and being friendlier to out Environment cannot be bad

    -----------------------------....

The best we can do as individuals is be more responsible ,in our own neck of the woods

Organise well publicized clean up parties ,talk on the radio

    Have citizan meetings

Get the shools involved to plant trees and listen to environmental awareness talks,

If you do any cleaning up leave signs behind saying who cleaned, why and ask people not to start dumping rubbish again ,leave a hole or bins ,in case people come with trash ,

We have done a lot of comunity cleaning and if you dont leave alternatives or try to work on peoples guilt feelings (some people actually have those ,but not many)

than your efforts are a waste of time.

That is what we do in Mexico

    POSITIVE ACTIONS

Print Tshirts with slogans ,hang posters all over the place (with recycled paper if possible)

Classify trash take out all the organic waste and make compost with it ,the worst you can do is throw it with the trash

70% of contamination is due to organic waste that is mixed in with the garbage .

And it is just as bad in the sewer where it helps to breed rats and in the landfill it poisons the ground

And it is the easiest to take care of

o first of all we have to clasify trash at least keep the organic to one side ,like in a plasic bin with a lid

If you got a few meters of ground ,you only need 1 or 2 square meters in a shallow hole ,in the shade ,that you can wet now and again ,where you dump everything that is organic ,from toilet paper, bones vegetable cuttings ,eggshells,,dead bodies ,excrement ,and cover regularly with leaves to keep humid and to hide any smell

the worms will come and decompose the wastes truning it into beautifull blck soil for the garden of flower pots .

If you are in a apartment ,if you have a balcony get a big plastic bin drill some holes in the side and lid ,

Add a few buckets of sand now and again to put over the trash ,you should realt stir or move the stuff at times to airate it and ensure that the decomposition is overall ,keep moist

This rubbish does not get big very fast and the thing works for a long time with out getting full

The capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.

The world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia

    Recicling wastes,limit water use

  8. Women play a big role in conservation of natural resources because they are the ones immediately affected by its loss.

For example, it is usually the women who are in charge of cooking, and so when the firewood runs out for lack of trees, they suffer. It is also usually the women who tend the sick children and the elderly, and so when there are no more natural herbs for medicine because of biodiversity loss, they are the ones who have to come up with ways and means to grow these medicines.

Because of these traditional roles of women, they play a big role in conserving natural resources. There are numerous examples in India and Africa and most developing countries where women formed groups and successfully addressed this growing problem of conserving natural resources in their own villages.
