  1. dont know name but on one of my visits to buckingham palace my nana told me it symbolized the military dominance that the royal family has over the british armys and also shows that royals take active part in the armed forces


  2. Its a Regimental full dress uniform (depending on which Regiment they are CIC of).  It reminds me of the Romanovs.  Why the 'Royals' always have to be so military is beyond me.  Charles and Philip have ranks they neither achieved or earned.
