  1. There is no official rule in international or NCAA games, but some coed or entertainment games require that serving player call out the score (such as "four, three, service"... or "4 serving 3"...) so that the ref may not have to keep up with the score.


  2. ok, to Dan_Ye.....we're talking about the serve, not score!!

    Anyways...the receiving team can yell "Out!" so to alert their team not to go for the ball.  The Line Judges, place both hands in air, at 90 degrees, palms facing inwards.  The Up Ref and Down Ref do the same.

  3. If you have a referee they will signal you to serve when all players are in position and ready to receive.

    If you do not, make sure the team you are serving to is looking at you (it usually take about 30 seconds from the last point) and yell "serve" or "service" or the score (yours first)  and that is fair warning.

  4. The only rule is it has to make it over the net..inside the out box!

  5. you put both of your hands in the air in a 90 degree angle.
