Are you allowed to bring something that is more than 3oz if its in a plastic bag, or does it have to be less than 3oz? And what exactly d you have to put in the plastic bags? Thanks in advance! I'm flying from JFK airport in NY to New Delhi in India.

  1. you have to put them in a zip lock bag

  2. 3oz or less for every airline.

  3. The limit is like 3.4 oz or close to that. If it is too big, they will take it away from you. Most stores carry small travel size stuff now. Put you toiletries, medication, nail clippers(small ones are OK) in the baggie. Be prepared to pull it out and put into the bins they provide for you. Also wear easy off shoes as you must take those off too. Do not bring from home any bottled water or soda's or such. You can buy this after going through security at the airport. it is OK to bring your own food, just no drinks.

  4. 3-1-1

No individual liquid container bigger that 3 oz, AND all liquid containers must fit inside of a one quart bag. One bag per traveler.

    good luck:))

  6. I don't know about on the way back...

but U.S. regulations say 3 ounces per container for liquids or gels, and all the containers in a sealed 1-quart plastic bag.

Anything bigger or extra containers go in your checked luggage.  It would be a good idea to pack them in plastic bags as well, to avoid spilling them all through your luggage, but it's not necessary.

Some exceptions can be made for liquid medicines or baby food/formula, but you MUST declare it to the airline and get it approved or risk confiscation.
