Question:

What is the ruling if a bunker rake left out of bunker deflects my ball into that bunker?

The rake was left out in a way that it was perpendicular to the bunker edge and my ball rolled up and then hit the rake and deflected into the bunker. If the rake was not out, my ball would have rolled closer to green, if not onto it.

  1. when no one is looking take the ball out of the bunker and set it up with a nice fairway lie.

  2. That is called" rub of the green" which means you play the next shot from the bunker.. The rake was in its proper place. It is unfortunate that the shot hit the rake. It sounds as if the ball was bound for the bunker.

  3. You leave it where it lies. Sorry that's the rule but it's the same as if it hits a bird in the air and drops straight into the hole.

  4. FIRE your caddy... he's supposed to notice that kind of stuff.

  5. That question can be answered so many different ways. I would rule that whatever penalty i was ruled. The person who left the rake took no consideration to the other golfer. Sorry but you would have to play it they way it went.

  6. Its just bad luck partner.  You have to play it from the bunker.  I don't know if people are getting lazier or they are just unaware of proper golf etiquette, but I've been seeing things like that more and more often lately.

  7. Aaah.  If you were that close to the bunker it serves you right.
