  1. The amount of complaints in regards to judging and results

Michael Phelps and his .01 second win in the butterfly

Asa and his beef with the wrestling judges (which also showed he was right, but who cares from the IOC)

The underage problem with the Chinese gymnasts

The "you stepped in my lane" controvesy for the 100 meter sprint

I realize that emotions are high, but you need cooler heads

  2. H. Closing Ceremony

  3. Mark Emmons.   This story is worth searching for

  4. wow! you forgot the under age gymnastic girls

plus  the judges who were paid off and the people who didnt get a gold medal

  5. H. The US won all its medals by cheating.

  6. For me its the possibility that we wont see Alicia again if she retires...

  7. Russia invading Georgia on the same day as Opening Ceremonies. I thought that was pretty terrible. And I think the retirement of Olympic diver Guo Ming Ming(I forgot her name) I thought her retirement was the saddest ever!

  8. H) Nobody cares bout Paralympics

  9. Nastia being ripped of her gold.

  10. Do not put the age of some female gymnast of China, which allegedly whose ages were lower than the minimum allowable.

  11. H - Underage Chinese gymnasts

I - Cuban kicking Tae Kwan Do ref in the face

  12. Liu Xiang injured before his first heat.

    Easily.

These Games were held in Beijing, and for their national hero to limp out before the first race even started due to unbearable amount of pain was disheartening for 1.3 billion people.  The only pain that could rival this were the Russia-Georgia event and the American killed.  But these two were serious non-athletic related events, whereas Liu Xiang injured was easily the saddest athletic related event.

Just imagine Michael Phelps competing in Chicago, for 8 gold medals, a feat never done before.  And he pulls out of his first preliminaries.  Now multiply that shock by 10, because Liu Xiang is China's most popular athlete since Athens 2004, whereas Phelps only gets as much attention as he does during the Olympics.

EDIT: Also if you're going to add Laura Wilkinson, you're really going to have to add Guo Jing Jing first, since she is easily the much more popular of the two divers, and her retirement was HUGE in China.

  13. I say Tibet and the US Volleyball coach's father-in-law being murdered.

But, how amazing is it that he lead them to gold after all he'd been through? That's incredible!
