I won't let my daughter play soccer, softball or basketball so we made a compromise that I would let her play whichever sport is the safest. I can't find statistics online.

  1. on this website it shows rankings of sport injuries from greatest to least

and it shows cheerleading to be the safest check it out yourself.

  2. most all sports any one could get hurt, i bull ride, i know so many people get hurt thats like ranked 1st or 2nd for most people getting hurt

  3. If she wants to play, let her play. Like others have said, every sport can result in injury. Most injuries for any sport are broken fingers. P.S. to the person who said cheerleading is the safest, you're wrong. I watched a news report saying it has the most injuries (from people falling, being dropped, landing wrong). You really have got to think what she likes. If you say she has to play a safer sport such as golf and she doesn't like golf, she won't like it and won't excel at it. Another P.S. to someone(s): Volleyball does have a lot of contact. For example falling on the floor diving. I know people who have dislocated their shoulder playing volleyball.

In my opinion, I'd just let her play the sport she wants to. Let her have fun. If she doesn't like the sport, she won't have fun. It'll be a waste of time even if she's good at it. I was a better basketball player than softball player, but I just don't like the sport enough to invest 3 hours a day to do it. I'd rather be above average at softball and enjoy the sport.

  4. golf

  5. My dear every sport has some amount of danger in it and even sending your child to school everyday is dangerous. Don't make your child fear thing not worth being feared. And the safest is probably tennis.

  6. There is no SAFE sport. Almost every sport you can get hurt. You can play football, soccer, hockey, gymnastics, on and on. Swimming maybe but you could crash into a wall or breath in water. You need to let her get kinda hurt so she can learn to get back up agian! Don't be a mother that makes there child where a hockey helmet all there life.

  7. volleyball? there really not body contact at all nor body's harmful complications (tireness, exhausted etc)

  8. Golf, Table tennis and Volleyball would probably be the safest.

I'd recommend swimming as it provides good life skills, is enjoyable, useful and safe at the same time.. Or maybe a water sport (Water Polo).

Alternatively, a running club wouldn't be bad.

  9. marching band is the safest & it's loads of fun

  10. why not let her not play those sports? sports are suppose to be tough and if she gets hurt, its a life lesson.
