I have some old pots and pans that I don't use anymore and I want to find a way to get rid of them in the most earth-friendly ways as possible. Is there any way that I can take them to be recycled instead of them being dumped in a landfill? Any suggestions?

  1. you could take them to the scrap yard where they will be recycled and you will also be paid for them.

  2. what they said......;)!

  3. It is good that you are concerned about adding to the waste stream.  I can suggest two possibilities:

First, take the pots and pans to a Salvation Army or Goodwill thrift store.  Many churches and other organizations also have thrift stores which will accept kitchen ware.

Second, check to see if you have a Freecycle group in your area.  Freecycle is an internet based e-mail organization which promotes reusing useful items.  There are groups in many cities.  You can list items you have to give away or items which you need.  Check their website to search for your city to see if you have a group:

  4. donate them to a friend, salvation army etc.
