What is the safest border to cross this month?

We are ex-pats living in Aguascalientes, Mexico. My husband's assignment has just ended & so now we are leaving for Michigan, USA in early July 2008. Since we brought our car into this country, we need to take it back with us to the USA. We have updated FM-3's & Passports for us & our two children. We will also be bringing back our 15 year old cat. What would be the safest route/border to take?

I think Laredo or McAllen might be good options for you and your traveling plans. They are pretty safe and they are on your way. Have  a Great Trip Back. Greetings from Zacatecas.
