  1. It's veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery mild, however in these past few years ive noticed its been getting a bit worse, but nothing too serious. We still barely get snow! However thats only speaking for those in the lower mainland. Anywhere out of there is a totally different story. Okanagan is beautiful, hot weather in the summer with Canada's only desert and Cold snowy winters. Kootney's are basically the same, just alot more mountains and less big cities. Cariboo & Northern BC are basically small northern towns, cold winters, hot summers. For safety, I mean anywhere out of the lower mainland and parts of the Okanagan would be ultimatly safe in crime perspectives. However i guess it would be less safe in driving & such as you do basically travel on highways in some areas. Probably Langley-Chilliwack also the tri cities (Port Coquitlam, Port Moody & Coquitlam) would be fine for safety in the lower mainland. Basically the farther away you get from the metropolis, the safer it is, like in most cities

  2. Well, If you move to the Thompson okanogan, Where I happen to live, It gets well over 35 degrees in the summer.

Safest? Well, I'd go to a smaller town, With the weather in mind, I would go to the small community of chase

  3. haha safest...i was just in a city called Stewart,B.C....VERY safe and small!it was sooo cool!i loved it

BUT.........honestly, anywhere in Canada has rele cold winters...so good luck on that

  4. DO NOT LIVE IN SURREY U WILL GET ROBBED

I'd say safest in most of Vancouver and the island

  5. West Vancouver has virtually no crime rate. Its in the Greater Vancouver Area, about a 5 minutes drive across Lions Gate Bridge to the city, so it has really mild weather and is unfortunately very rainy. Its really expensive too but the market has and is going down considerably and more and more places are being listed. Another great thing about West Van: No hobos. Actually, it was listed as having 2 hobos becuase at the time they took the stats, 2 hobos and crossed over the bridge to West Van, and then had to be transferred back downtown or over into North Van by the police lol.

Close to UBC or SFU or BCIT or Emily Carr etc.

But if you want something a bit cheaper and still safe, anywhere in the west end of Vancouver is fine. Like Kerrisdale or Kits.

And its not neccersarily true what the above poster said, some of the towns up north are way more dangerous than some parts near Vancouver. Its jsut the east side you need to worry about.

  6. climate wise;  coastal BC has the least difficult winters and mild, humid free summers.   We have a few snow days every year but most of the winter is overcast and wet but you dont have to shovel it or freeze your butt off.  Its also an outdoor paradise for skiers, hikers, cycling, sailing etc..

Cities like Victoria, Nanaimo on Vancouver Island are very safe but pretty limited in what they offer as they are not big cities.  Vancouver is big and lots of options and also safe if you stay away from the downtown eastside.  Try the North Shore area (expensive) or the Valley (less expensive)
