  2. No country is safe except your own country. When you are an aoutside your bound to be treated like an outsider. Why indians prefer other countries why dont live and study and contribute to us. westerners come to india to steal us, and we go to there to contribute to tehir growth and blame our fellows like politicians, what we have to do is not to balme them but to act with our power and knowledge to chnage these people till their attitude changes to accommodate overall development of country. If no brain darin india will be most advanced country in the world.most indians follow westerners if not they will follow indians in future because the culture of india is better than any other. once you stop thinking westerners are better than us in any means our attitude will start changing and we will start grwing that is for sure. most of indians are under western influence no westerns ha ve any indian influence. and we always say we love india ,actually we do?

  3. Oklahoma is safe and cheap.

Here is a website you can check out. http://www.securityoncampus.org/crimesta...

  4. The United States is just like any other country and the states and cities here are like those all over the world; there are going to be bad parts and good parts to any city you decide to live in.

So crime is a non-factor, however you didn't mention is you were looking for violent crime or just crime in general, because if you do some research you will notice that many cities who have a high general crime rate, do not have a high violent crime rate.

The weather, you need to be more specific if you want states with all four seasons, then I would look at places such as Denver, Chicago, Minneapolis-St. Paul and the New England states. For all year round sun, then perhaps San Diego, L.A, San Francisco, Miami, Dallas, Austin and Tampa. If you want to avoid the tornadoes then steer clear of the mid-west regions.

Transportation is very poor in the majority of the United States, however Denver, Washington, New York, Boston and San Diego and very good public transport services.

Universities, there are good universities all over the United States. Throw a dart at a map of the U.S. and you will find a handful of good universities and colleges in the state your dart landed in.

Expenses. The most expensive states are the tourist hot-spots: New York, Boston, Miami, Orlando, Tampa, L.A. etc. But again, expensive places can be found in every state. If you want something more affordable then look at the mid-west and the south.

Personally I love Denver: it is affordable, four-seasons (hot summers, snowy winters), plenty of good universities (MSCD, DU and CU) all of which are located within 10 minutes of each other. Excellent public transport within the Metro area (which is free to students) including buses and the light rail.

  5. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is a pretty good University.  Lincoln is not too big (about 250,000) and the school has a population of about 22,000. ( a beautiful and clean campus too) The weather can be a bit harsh in the winter, but that comes with any Midwestern state.  The school is also crazy about football in the fall, so if you don't like sports, I'm not sure how you'd feel.  However, Lincoln is super safe- I'm a female and I'll walk pretty much anywhere, even downtown at night.  I suppose crime increases as does population.  Another plus is that everyone here is soooo friendly and helpful.  I suppose that has a lot to do with the Midwestern location too. Public transportation leaves a lot to be desired.  There are buses that run throughout the city, but they aren't that great.  It is easy to live on campus or near, and be able to have access to anything you need.
