I am mainly concerned with the hard plastic toys. I remember seeing a commercial for a cleaning solution that was safe to use, but I can't recall it exactly.

  1. You're thinking of Clorox Anywhere.

  2. Dettox (Dettol?) Sanitizer. Looks like a bottle of water. The TV advert showed a mum wiping down her babies high chair tray and then the baby ate food straight off of it so it must be safe

Obviously you're asking from the US. Never heard of Clorox in the UK

  3. hard plastic toys that are small...such as dinky cars and lego blocks can go in the washer or dishwasher

bigger items should be washed down with a mild bleach solution or use lysol wipes

make a point of spraying daily with lysol spray

  4. the product you are thinking of is made by Clorox.  Another safe and more affordable solution is 1/2 and 1/2 water and white vinegar.  It's obviously food safe, and acidic enough to kill germs on your kids' toys as well as other surfaces like bathroom/kitchen counters, toilet seats, etc.  It works great in laundry, too.  Add 1/2 to 1 cup to your rinse cycle depending on the size of the load you're doing to disinfect your laundry and keep things like colored bath towels from smelling "funky".

  5. clorox wipes are very good and a safe way to clean and disinfect. i have a 6yr old and a 4yr old i also substitute at the local school and that is what they use also.

  6. Soak them in hot water for several minutes and use plain dish soap to clean the accessible parts.
