What is the safest way to reduce the glare of headights from a car behind you?

My mirror automatically gets darker when it detects a bright light from behind.  It's an awesome feature that i don't know if i can live without now.

d, that is why you find an adjustment lever on it.

Adjust the rear view mirror. There is a lever at the bottom of the mirror that you just have to flick and the mirror adjusts for glare.
