I'm going to uni doing a maths degree in october and i want to know where i can get with this line of work as it interests me

  1. I have been a teacher in that field for 20 years now, and even with seniority, I am only making 12,650.87 a year. Approximately 23% of that goes to taxes.

    I do love math though!


  2. You can live comfortable in regional areas on a teachers wage, whether it be maths or phys ed.

    I believe that once you've made the life decision to become a teacher, you forfeit the right to big money. Thats the trade off.  Holidays are sweet though!

  3. Not as much as it should be but the cost of living in Aus is far lower than here (U.K), plus as you know the quality of life is much better!

    p.s "You are interested in maths? - You freak!". lol

  4. Teachers get $600 a week (average). But the government is thinking of raising this. Only do teaching if you love it. I hate Kevin Rudd. This is the only good thing he is doing.
