What is the salary for car dealer mechanics?

im thinking of taking classes for toyota mechanic. but do they get paid hourly or is it commision? and what does it pay. i live in los angeles

I don't believe it's commission--it wouldn't make sense.  But I think you can expect to make anywhere between $40-80k/yr to start.

it depends what dealer you are at some play flat rate and others pay hourly. starting id say youd make somewhere between 25-30k, once you work your way up and earn your ASE certifications you should make anywhere from 75k and up. put yourself out in the community also and you can do sidejobs and make even more
