According to salary.com 50% of MTs in California make between 57K and 68K.  I'm sure there is some variance depending on location and setting (e.g. hospital vs. doctor's office), and I have heard of some making up to 90K or more.  The actual national average for new, graduating MTs is between 40 and 55K.
