  1. Math and science teachers are needed everywhere. Instead of worrying about how much money you can make decide where you want to live. If you have a math credential for secondary and high school students you are in control. You can pick your location and school and not get stuck in some terrible situation where you pull your hair out and go bald after the first month. Remember money is not everything, be happy. Also, usually pay is determined by location. If you teach in some small town in Montana of course the salary will be lower because the cost of living is too.

  2. Depends on the area and the amount of education and experience. If you go to the website of the school district you are interested in, you can find teacher's salaries. With the shortage of math and science teachers, you may be able to negotiate to start at the pay level of someone with a year more of experience than you have

  3. I am a first year math teacher in Southern Illinois.  I make around 34K.  My district completely pays for my health insurance too.

If you really want to be a math teacher, you may be able to get any student loans forgiven if you teach long enough.  The teacher next door to me did that.  She has been teaching for 7 years.  After teaching in a high need subject area, all of her student loans were forgiven.  She did not have to pay any of them back.  So that helps.

  4. Salaries are determined by each district and the union. You would have to look it up on your districts web site.

The salary will vary from state to state, but also from district to district.
