But we usually do express dissolved materials in ppt or ppm (most common).

In terms of concentration, another way would be to do the concentration which is 18 g/dm, which i think it is likely the science teacher is getting at if you are about 15 or 16..

0.018 g/ml or 18000 ppm (ug/ml) or 18 ppt (mg/ml).

ppm= parts per million

ppt= parts per thousand
