  1. It really depends on the airline and the equipment.

  2. it's really difficult to describe.  Some days you have early reports, other days late.  The lines above are when you are senior enough to be a lineholder.  Until then, you are on reserve.  You get scheduled days off, and on the other days they tell you when you have to be available by phone or pager.  Then, you have to get to the airport within a certain amount of time, in uniform and packed for up to six days in a row.  The time you have to get ready is usually from an hour to about two hours.  This all depends on what the airline's work rules are, or if they have a union contract.

It's pretty difficult to understand until you actually do it.  I flew cargo for years before I flew for a regional airline, and I had no idea what it would be like until I actually did it.  Hope that helps you.

  3. quite punishing

  4. First of all Comair quit pretending to be a pilot! Comair doesn't even have a base in Cleveland. The only regional to have a base in cleveland is Express Jet. Two days for a whole month are unheard of!!

Basically to answer the question it depends on the regional and if you are on reserve. I worked for American Eagle and a normal line is 4 days on 3 days off. Somewhere around 13-15 legs a trip. There are lines the are 3 days on 4 days off. It really just depends on reserve you can be on for 5 days and have two days off and you are guaranteed 11 days off a month on reserve.
