What is the school system of China like?

From elementary to high school..I know its vigorous, so can someone give me the details?"

Just to add a little, they generally go to school 5 1/2 days a week. Monday - Thursday, half a day on Friday, and a full day on Sunday.

Let me think about it, for elementary, we will learn 5 or 6 years, about maths, chinese, history, geography, ideology, musical and Physical Education; for middle, we will learn 3 or 4 years, about English, physics, chemistry, biology and all that mentioned above; for high, we will learn 3 years, the course is same with the middle, but more detailed.

Generally speaking:

primary school - 6 years

junior school - 3 years

after junior school some students who did not get enough score go to skill school and 2 or 3 years later they begin their career or continue study in high-class skill schools.

the students who got enough score to go to high schools will flight for another 3 years to take the university entrance examination. This examination is very cruel. Only a quarter of the students can continue their study for bachelor degree. Most of them will go to high-class skill school.

The students who get bachelor degree can take examination for higher degree. But most of bachelors will choose to work after graduation.
