Meaning, no brain damage. They heard bad news and went into a coma. There is a name for it and I cant remember it nor can I find it.

Come on now, Hollywood is just around the corner! There is no psychological trauma which causes a coma, only a temporary condition called Amnesia. The person can be catatonic but not comatose.
