Do they play best ball or alternate shots or just straight up stroke play. I ask because sometimes you will see amatures like Bill Murry goof off and kick a ball or putt like a pool shot, and I wonder if it affects the Pro's score.

  1. Bill Murray will goof around only when he or his team are not in serious contention.. The pro's score,is what he shoots for the hole. The players in his foursome all carry handicaps. Their handicaps will determine the holes on which they get strokes. This is where your score is reduced by the stroke you receiveExample; Hole 1 is a par 4. Hard hole. You get a stroke, The pro makes 4( par). You make 4 less handicap stroke for 3. Team score for hole # 1 is 3. This is the procedure used for the extent of the Pro -Am tournament. Lowest team net score wins. The pro side of the competition is lowest actual score for the entire tournament.

  2. Best ball, so each person is playing their own ball.  Once they know their score will not be used on a hole, then they can pick up or kick it or whatever they want to do.  Most pros would prefer they pick up and not waste time.
