  1. there is no second language in Turkey. % 95 of the population only knows Turkish.

  2. Second language spoken in Turkey (after Turkish) is NORWEGIAN

third one is Chinese (Canton )

wanna know the fourth one? it's JAPANESE

  3. i think that it's arabic cause every turkish is studing it for their religion...so as i know all of them knows arabic so i can think that arabic is their second language.... :)

  4. Turkey's second language is English where every school is supposed to teach!! Then on the 3rd place its German (usually... but if you wanna learn any other languages, all would be useful since its part of Europe...)

  5. I'm sure it's German. I'm German myself and have many "Turkish" friends who grew up here, and are what the Turks call "Almancik". They have their Turkish families at home who feel very much related to Germany; and Germans make up for the largest tourist population in Turkey all the year. Many Turks who worked in Germany went back and make their living in the tourist business, using their language skills. One of my German-Turk friends, who was born here, is quad-lingual: He's fluent in Turkish (his mother tongue), German (his native tongue, as he was raised in Germany), English, and French (from school). He's now learning Spanish.

  6. Turkish is the one and only official language. And we all speak Turkish. But there are few local dialects like  Laz (I belong to this minor group), Kürdish, Georgian, Arabic etc. This is related to cultural origins of people. Also I guess almost half of the population knows to read the Quran but this does not necessarily implies that we know or can communicate in Arabic. Because writings of the Quran are a little different than regular Arabic

  7. guys wait did u forget something 95% of turkey r muslims which mean there might be a few of them who read the quran which is in arabic?

  8. I agree with Totally Blunt.

There is ONLY ONE official language in Turkey.

  9. A second language would imply something official. Turkey's only official language is Turkish, but people may grow up learning the languages of local ethnicities.

There are millions of Turks in Germany. Can we say Turkish is Germany's second language? Or Spanish in USA? Exactly.

  10. The only official language in Turkey is Turkish. Some people grow up speaking Kurdish or Arabic as well. The most common second language taught in schools and used in business is English. Some schools also teach French and/or German and a lot of ex-pat Turks live and work in countries where German, English or French are spoken so often acquire these languages. Business and commerce dictates that Chinese (Mandarin), Japanese, Russian etc are also of benefit. Spanish is also growing in popularity.

  11. turkiush!!!!!!! LOL just joking... I THINK the answer is French, but not sure

  12. Must be either laz language or kurdish language, but I'm not sure because kurdish language is not homogeneous and has several dialects.

Let's wait for the answers by the Turkish users, they know better than us, for sure.

  13. English (benefical),,

  14. Turkish is the only official language  in Turkey for the Turks

English language  being the international language , i suppose  this would be the next preferred language to be used in Turkey,,
