Spanish, of course!  It is even a legal language in the West and Southwest, since when the US took over that land from Mexico they signed a treaty with the Spanish-speaking people who already lived there that they would be allowed to keep their language and customs.

The most spoken language in the USA is English, followed, distantly, by Spanish.   The same is true for North America as a whole:  English, followed by Spanish, followed by French (thanks to those whacky Quebecois).

For South America, it's Spanish followed by Portuguese.  With English a distant third unless you include second languages, not just native speakers.
