  1. it depends on the type of kick you want. like a grubber kick you will hit the ball closer to the top. just practice and experiment with kicking ball in different spots , angles , follow thru and power.

  2. Like mentioned in some of the above answers.

To have a perfect kicking game needs some natural talent, look at the top kickers in the NRL, they are in a league of their own with pin point accuracy kicks.

It takes skill, practice and experience.

Skill being that you need to develop the style of kicking you want, alot of players kick differently giving it spiral, bounce or my favourite the 'floater'.

Practice, constantly practicing on a full size field that you would play on, and using the right size ball etc. Try to simulate a game situation as best as possible.

Experience for the fact that with experience your able to see when the kick is on so that it will come off and be the right option, also knowing the conditions of the field, whether a ball will skid, slide or sit up for your chasers.

I feel experience plays the biggest role, any man and his dog can kick a ball with nobody in front of him.

Although it takes skill for someone to be able to see something coming on a play or two before and being able to execute it the correct way.

  3. Learn to play AFL

  4. seems to me the secret is kick and hope it goes in the right place, the rugby boys have no skill and would be lucky to hit the side of a barn, what other skill is needed oh throw a ball backwards and run what a joke.

  5. You are going to need some natural talent.  If you have that, then as the man says "practice, practice, practice ..."

  6. " Practice makes perfect .. "

  7. get a good kicker mayb

  8. The trick is to get your foot right under the ball at a curved position curving inwards. Practice with the ball on a kicking cone first, and then try drop kicking. It takes some practice, but you'll get it soon.

  9. dunno but the NRL has Goal kicks, drop kicks, bombs, chip kicks, long kicks, grubber kicks and banana kicks wearers in AFL all they do is kick, and there is only a goal kick and a kick both from out of the hand, there supporters r drop kicks but i dont thinks that counts.

So i assure u, u have com 2 the right place bro!

  10. Knowing exactly where you want the ball to go and giving yourself the room and time to execute the kick.
