  1. ZCT is correct, except about not being allowed in casinos.  people winning at blackjack draws more people to the tables.  if you stay low limit and count cards, not only will casino's let you stay but they will give better comps at the table so others ther can hear and spend more money to try to get those comps.

  2. Count those cards, watch 21.

  3. Blackjack seems easy, but it actually can be a complex game, and can take some time, practice and experience to really master the game.

The only way to consistently win at blackjack is to increase your bet under favorable odds, and decrease your bet when the odds are unfavorable. There are blackjack systems designed to do this, such as Basic Strategy, Card Counting, and the Blackjack Betting Trigger.

Here is a link to a page that offers a lot of free blackjack strategy, and some "secrets" to mastering the game.

I use an comprehensive strategy for blackjack that includes many methods to increase my overall blackjack session profits. By using it, I have found that I can walk away an overall winner more times than not. For example, the strategy includes maximizing your playing time comps (casino freebies), money management systems to control and increase your bankroll, finding the right table with the most favorable rules, and playing strategies that enhance the player's odds against the house edge.

    Good luck at the tables!

  4. There's always card counting, but you just learned how to play 10 minutes ago and to learn something as complex as card counting would be difficult. I suggest understanding basic strategy first. when you master basic strategy then think about counting cards.

Go into a casino gift shop and ask if they have any basic strategy cards. They usually sell them for a dollar by the register and most casinos will let you use them at the table. This card shows you the BEST move when dealt certain card values. It tells you when to hit, stay, split, or double down for every possible combination of cards. In the long run it takes the house edge down to 1%. ONE PERCENT! That means that in the long run you would have one 99% of the hands you're dealt. Example: In a 10 hour run at a blackjack table, 9 hours out of the 10 hours you've been playing, you've been winning. Isn't that great?

Take it from me, I've been playing blackjack for over 10 years now and basic strategy is the best way to UNDERSTAND and "master" the game.

  5. Time. The MORE You play it, the BETTER- you'll get!   :)

  6. Ever heard of the expression run before you can walk?

If you just learned the basic rules, you probably want to get the hang of the basics first.

Then you are going to want to learn basic strategy.  This is the math of the game.  In any given position of the game there is a mathematically correct action.  So if you have 88 and the dealer is showing a 9, there is a mathematically correct thing to do.  You have to learn all these scenarios so that you know what to do.

Once you have learned the math, then you want to learn the basics of card counting, and then finally advanced card counting.

Mastering this game, like pretty much any other game, is not something you can do in a few weeks.  It takes a lot of time, effort and dedication.

If you ask me, mastering Blackjack is a waste of time.  If you get too good at it, the casinos won't let you play.  So master poker, because the casinos don't care who wins at poker.

  7. You must learn "basic strategy" first then you can start with a simple counting system. You can find books on this at most bookstores and online.

  8. 21 is a fun game!

    Always:

    Split Aces

Double Down on 11 (no matter what the dealer shows)

Split 8's against a dealer 7 or bust

Know when to get up and cash out

    Never:

    Split 10's or face cards

Double down on 12 or higher

Buy/Take insurance against a dealers Ace

Sit at a table where where the players don't know what they are doing.  This will only irritate you!

Go to the ATM at a casino (outrageous fees)

You should watch the movie "21"

Hope you win on your new hobby!

  9. Mastering blackjack?  If any of us knew how to do that, we'd quit our jobs and spend our weekdays in the casino. :)

It gets complicated to the point where you almost need an advanced statistics class and a photographic memory for counting cards to "master" blackjack.

But you can get better and make the odds more in your favor.  The next thing you should work on is figuring out when you should try to make the dealer bust without you busting.  It works like this:

The dealer has to hit if she has anything less than 17.  Likewise, she has to hold/stay if she has 17 or more.

So if you see a 6 turned up, there's approximately a 5/13 (better than 1/3) chance that the card that's face down has a value of 10.  So if you have a 15 or 16, you probably don't want to hit because you run the risk of busting while the dealer also has a good chance of busting.  You want to play the odds against her, since if she does have a 10 or 9 that's face down, there's a better than 50/50 chance that she'll bust on her next card.

You just gotta play and the odds will work themselves out in your head.  Just remember, 52 cards in a deck, 13 cards per suit.  Learn how to weigh your odds against hers.  Make sense?

  10. Card counting... google it.

  11. Prepairing yourself to master the game of blackjack is like prepairing to climb mount everest, it takes months of research and practice to fully understand the game, and even when you think you know everything, you dont and theres alway more to learn.  The good news is blackjack is a beatable game, and the adventure of doign so can be very fun and rewarding.

Myself and several others have agreed that blackjack advantage play is like ART.  We all have our own indiviudally crafted techniques and styles that come together to yeild advantages higher than the next persons.  There is no end to becomeing the best blackjack player, but to clue you in on what it takes, beyond counting cards and following things through the dealer shuffling, to become even better you may want to be able to coax dealers to do little things to help you out, predict when certain dealers will show up at your table, use awsome peopel skills to manipulate what other players at the table do, or allow you to do such as make them leave the table, and them allowing you to place bets in their circles.  Bet more or less for reasons other than the count, detect advantages not derived from the count, take advantage of dealer errors in the most efficient way possible, the list is endless.

You need to buy a book to fuly understand the vast intricacies of blackjack, you can fid them in the puzzles and games section of bookstores.  Event then though, you will still have a lot more to learn, and youll never be better then me, because im one low, sly sleazy player :)
