  1. most try to make it to 22. but usually they call it a day around then! such as alicia sacramone she will be 21 in Dec. with all hopes she may try to make another olympic team, but in reality it will be a tough one. she will almost be 25 then!!!  injuries only allow you to repediately beat on them for so long until it is done!  


  2. Oksana Chusovitina is 33 years old and competing for Germany. But that is a rarity for gymnastics. It is rare to see a gymnast over 25, but it is becoming more and more common. There was that 28 year old on the Chinese team. It depends how well the gymnast takes care of herself.  

  3. 20 is usually where they call it a day.

    That gives them two oylmpics one at age 16 - 17 and the other at 20-21 if they were born in the same year. Also gymnastics is not going to provide a living for the next forty plus years of life so they have to move on.

    Alycia Sacramone is actually in college right now. A Georgia Bulldog I believe.
