  1. This is the general rule for trail rides:

    For safety reasons, we strongly recommend a red ribbon in the tail of horses that kick, a green ribbon in the tail of a green horse or rider and a yellow ribbon in the tail of a stallion.


  2. red ribbon- means that the horse will kick or strikee out. this is important because it lets you know not to get to close, or you may get kicked.

    green ribbon- means the horse is green. this is important because a green horse is not always the best behaved, so it lets you know just to be aware around the horse.

    yellow ribbon- means the horse is a stallion. important cause stallions are very protective and powerful. if another horse goes near a mare he likes, he could try to protect the mare or win her over.  

  3. If you are on a trail ride and there's red ribbons in a horse's tail, that means that that horse is prone to kicking at any horse that gets too close to it.
