What is the significance of Niagara Falls?

This is for a homework assignment, and I need a little help. It says: "Identify and explain the significance of the tourist attraction you visited." I'm doing Niagara Falls.

surely the answer is kind of obvious ... it's one of the largest waterfalls in the world ... if my memory serves me right (and you can check this out on Wikipedia) the big three are Niagara, Victoria and Angel ... I think Angel Falls are the longest, Niagara the widest and Victoria the most volume of water (but don't take my word for it)

another significance is it's a border crossing between US and Canada
