  1. very broad points:

    sociology- the study of social systems/structures (e.g. institutions etc)

    anthropology: the study of people and culture (i.e. humanity)

    both are important and provide insight into the phenomenon of people. society and the way the all 'relate' with each other etc


  2. I took both types of classes in college and from a personal perspective it seems that sociology has a broader, theorectical approach and cultural anthropology focused more practical, hands on study of one particular society or comparitive study.   I loved studying in both departments because they complement each other so well.
