Before the cell discovery happened, people believed that animals, plants, and even humans are just the way they see it. (with simply of skin, leaves, etc). But when Robert Hooke first discovered the cell, we can now explain the things happening in our macroscopic view by looking ourselves in the mircroscopic view. What is happening in our body is dependent on what is the situation/conditions of our cells.
